Singapore Changi (SIN) is one of the most-awarded airports in the world and the home base for Singapore Airlines and Scoot. Its connectivity into Southeast Asia, Australia, and the broader Asia-Pacific is unmatched — and the transit experience is famously good.
Why SIN works for transits
Changi is built around the assumption that travelers will spend hours there on purpose. Free Wi-Fi and shower facilities are everywhere, lounges are generous even outside premium cabins, and the airport literally has a butterfly garden, a movie theater, and the world's largest indoor waterfall (the Rain Vortex at Jewel Changi). Same-airline 60-minute connections are routine.
Terminals
- Terminals 1, 2, 3 — Connected by SkyTrain and walkways. Singapore Airlines uses 2 and 3 primarily.
- Terminal 4 — Used by AirAsia, Cathay, Korean Air, and several others. Slightly isolated; a free shuttle bus connects it to T2.
- Jewel Changi — Connected airside to T1, landside between T1, T2, and T3.
Where SIN shines
Long-haul to Australia and the Pacific is a Changi specialty. Singapore Airlines also operates ultra-long-haul flights to North America (including the world's longest, SIN-EWR). Within Asia, the airline network density and competitive pricing on routes to Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and India are hard to beat.
